Cyber Security and Fraud conference at the RDS, Dublin

NO LONGER A QUESTION OF IF BUT WHEN AN ORGANISATION WILL FALL VICTIM TO A CYBER ATTACK

INCIDENT RESPONSE PLANNING IS CRITICAL FOR IRISH COMPANIES, LARGE AND SMALL, IN THE EFFORT TO AVOID CYBER SECURITY & FRAUD BREACHES

Thompson Insurances join forces with Eversheds Sutherland and Grant Thornton to host Cyber Security and Fraud conference at the RDS, Dublin

Wednesday, February 08th 2018: A Cyber Security and Fraud conference this morning heard that it is no longer a question of if a company will face a cyber attack, but when. Co-hosted by Thompson Insurances, Eversheds Sutherland and Grant Thornton, over 150 guests attended the seminar in the RDS to hear from a panel of expert speakers that included Detective Superintendent Michael Gubbins of the Garda Cyber Crime Bureau.

“An Garda Síochána have had many successes in bringing cyber criminals to justice over recent years, but companies need to become more aware of their own responsibilities in minimising the risk of cyber crime on their businesses” said Detective Superintendent Gubbins.   “Not having proper cyber incident response planning in place, which includes reporting cyber crime to the Garda and Data Protection commissioner, can have far reaching consequences for business”.
