On Thursday evening the 22nd September Thompson Insurance Brokers hosted a Race Night Fundraiser at The Aviva Stadium in aid of the north inner city charity Belvedere Youth Club located on Buckingham Street, Dublin 1.
A special word of thanks is reserved for the numerous sponsors and the chief sponsor Citynet Insurance Brokers in particular. Also, to all the staff of Thompson Insurances who went above and beyond the call of duty to beg, steal and borrow donations and prizes for the night.
Most of Thompson’s staff and some of their insurer partners have visited Belvedere Youth Club and seen first hand the important work the club facilitates. Paul Brady, the youth clubs director and general manager, spoke at the event and outlined what the club is all about. What really struck the author was that outside of the traditional school environment the club provides the only consistent routine for a lot of the kids that attend from the ages of 7 to 20 years. Thompson’s are delighted to be able to support this local charity and to witness where their donations go. Over the past number of years Thompson Insurances has raised some €40,000 for the Belvedere Youth Club and at the time of going to print this particular initiative has raised an additional €17,000.
